ANBIMA represents the institutions that operate
in the Brazilian capital markets. It consists of a
heterogeneous mixture of members that operate
in all market segments. Among the more than
340
associates, it includes multiple commercial
and investment banks, fund managers, brokers,
securities dealers and asset managers.
With the objective of strengthening the institutions
and the market, the Association organized its
activities around four commitments.To represent
the interests of the associates; to self-regulate the
activities of the markets represented; to contribute
to qualify investors and professionals; and to provide
information about the segments represented.
To stimulate dialogue between associates
and represent them, the Association has an
area of Representation with professionals
from partner institutions that participate,
voluntarily, in committees and subcommittees.
They are responsible for defining strategies that
contribute to market development.
The associates are committed to following
the best practices for the segments in which
they operate. The entity promotes extensive
coordination between representatives who
propose rules and formalize them in self-
regulation codes. To ensure compliance, the
Association maintains supervisory bodies that
monitor the institutions that adhere to the codes.
To contribute to the training of professionals,
ANBIMA maintains a Professional Certification
program and a training area that offers an
extensive set of courses. With the objective
of consolidating a sustainable relationship
between the institutions and the investors, the
entity supports investors’ education initiatives,
maintaining a series of activities and supporting
government programs.
The Association maintains a large private
database of the Brazilian capital markets,
disclosing indicators, statistics and reports with
the intention of encouraging transparency and
creating knowledge about the markets. The area
of Products and Services also develops solutions
with the concept of “shared services”, offering
the institutions suitable cost conditions for the
services essential to their operations.
