The Project Financing Bulletin compiles information
on the total amount in project financing in Brazil
and its sectoral distribution, in addition to ranking
the institutions that operate in the segment. In
all, ANBIMA published six bulletins. At the end
of 2011, the Association began evaluating the
reformulation of three of them (Capital Market,
Investment Funds and Fixed Income), in order to
expand the set of data offered.
Another publication released in 2011 was the
ANBIMA/FGV (Getúlio Vargas Foundation)
Investment Fund Yearbook.A product of the
partnership between the Association with the GV
Cef (Getúlio Vargas Foundation Center of Studies in
Finance), The Yearbook provides an overview of the
Brazilian funds industry in 2010. The Association
became responsible for providing the data, and the
managers that operate in the local market provided
information about their respective institutions.
At the end of 2011, ANBIMA was already
preparing the second edition of the Yearbook,
with an expected release date for the end of the
second half of 2012.
The series “Perspectives”, which is aimed at
providing detailed information and technical
explanations of topics relevant for monitoring
financial and capital markets, was also
released in 2011. The first three issues of the
series dealt with Basel III, the North American
law Dodd-Frank and G20, and the reforming of
financial regulation, respectively. Another new
initiative was the development and release of
the article “The Financial System and Brazilian
Economy during the Great Crisis of 2008”,
written by economist Márcio Garcia, who
analyzed the performance of the economy, the
financial system and the Brazilian financial
and capital markets after the crisis of 2008,
highlighting the local market features that
contributed to the relatively good performance
in Brazil.
Technical information regarding the changes
to the regulatory framework of the markets
began to be consolidated and disclosed in the
Legislation Report, which is available for free on
the ANBIMA website. The set of laws governing
public offerings and FIP/FIEE (Private Equity/
Venture Capital Funds) was provided in the
legislation summaries, which can be purchased
at the Association’s Online Store.
