The participation of students in the tests was
also notable, by the significant growth of 51%
from the previous year. In total, 4,222 tests
were given, with 3,734 for CPA-10 and 488 for
CPA-20. Since 2002, over 10 thousand students
took the tests, yet 2011 recorded the highest
participation of this audience.
The CGA and CEA certifications were
consolidated during the year and recorded
a growth of 24% and 17%, respectively, in
comparison to the number of certifications issued
in the previous year. In total, 228 professionals
received CGA, while 363 CEA certificates were
issued up until the end of 2011.
The IBCPF (Brazilian Institute for the
Certification of Financial Professionals), an
entity in which ANBIMA is a senior associate
and that grants CFP Certification (Certified
Financial Planner), also saw a significant
increase in applicants over the past year,
registering a 34% growth. The two certification
tests totaled 945 applicants and 227 approved
professionals. During the year, 231 candidates
concluded IBCPF’s certification process and
received CFP certification. It is worth noting
that, in the last two years, the demand for
the test grew 129%. At the end of 2011, the
institute had 714 CFP professional associates.
During the year in which the area of Certification
renewed the ISO NBR 9001:2008 seal,
highlighting the effort to constantly improve the
quality standard of their procedures, IBCPF also
underwent an internal audit process conducted
by the FPSB (Financial Planning Standards
Board). The entity evaluated the institutions of
24
countries in which the CFP certification exam
is applied. The IBCPF was classified as “level 1”
by the audit, the highest level of classification,
obtaining 91% compliance in relation to the
global certification standards.
As part of the efforts to help qualify
professionals, the Association promoted, in
2011,
nearly 90 classroom courses, from
extension classes to graduate classes. The
classes were attended by 1,410 students, in
extension courses, specializing in financial and
capital markets, MBA in financial markets, in
addition to CFA preparatory courses (Chartered
Financial Analyst).
